My Experience
Research Assistant, Neurological Surgery
October 2025 - Present
PI: Dr. Ceci Verbaarschot
- Built and executed end-to-end human intracortical Sensorimotor BMI, Memory, and Error Prediction experiments, integrating haptic interfaces, clinical-grade neuroengineering software, and synchronized intracortical neural analysis.
Research Assistant, Electrical and Computer Engineering
May 2025 - August 2025
PI: Dr. Nishal P. Shah
- Developed a shared autonomy algorithm to integrate with our human intracortical Brain-Machine Interface experimental rig, coupled with real-time neural intent decoding for a high degree-of-freedom robot in a simulated dining environment.
Undergraduate Research Assistant, Bioengineering
August 2023 - December 2025
PI: Dr. Gu Eon Kang
- Collected and analyzed human motion data and developed machine learning models, to analyze gait & sit-to-walk for predicting emotional state and fall risk.
Undergraduate Research Assistant, Bioengineering
August 2024 - May 2025
PI: Dr. Stuart F. Cogan
- Characterized, evaluated, and optimized ultra-thin microelectrode arrays for neural recording and stimulation, focusing on chronic reliability and biocompatibility.
- Collaborated with industry partner Neuronexus.
Research Assistant, Preclinical Research (Spinal Cord Injury)
October 2023 - May 2024
PIs: Dr. Ana G. Hernandez-Reynoso & Dr. Seth A. Hays
- Investigated the capability of Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) to enhance bladder function in spinal cord injury rodent models.
